one year with Maggie

I woke up this morning and realized two things:

1. I have a One Year Old in my baby's room. How did that happen?

2. I feel a heck of a lot better this day, this year than I did this same day, last year.

So much has changed. Mike and I have given up a lot of our former lifestyle, and in its place, we've received this precious little chunky monkey who has the most adorable smile, brilliant blue eyes, and contagious laugh. So, while we don't sleep; we don't eat out past 6 p.m.; we rarely go places that are not kid friendly < thank the Lord for Target, chic-fil-a, and our local family-friendly Mexican restaurant > and we have given up on having a spotless anything, we wouldn't trade it for the world!!!

At one, Maggie is now -

-trying to crawl, walk around with furniture

-dumpster diving into her bedroom trash bin and eating old Kleenex

-chewing on everything, especially leather shoes

-eating almost everything in sight

-drooling on everyone and everything

... wait, am I describing a puppy or a baby girl? I think they are really not that much different at this point.

- she has learned the meaning of NO and she has perfected the art of the temper tantrum already

- she loves books, she loves a little yellow dog, and she loves, loves loves her Daddy

- we're still not sleeping too well at night: some nights we sleep 8 hrs straight, and more often than not, we wake up every few hours because the one year molars are apparently coming in

- she loves her friends Caroline, Star, Cloe, and Lily.

We look forward to seeing what the next twelve months are going to hold! I will post pictures later this weekend of her very first birthday party!
