Last night we enjoyed a Christmas present together - the Luke Brian/Jason Aldean concert in Salem, VA. Ash Bowers opened the show as a new band that really impressed us! The crowd was totally different than what we were used to in the beach area! Real country rednecks are so different than wannabe rednecks from the city. ;-) The songs like "Amarillo Sky" resonated with the crowd - you could tell they really understand what it means to rely on the grace of God for their daily bread.
So enough rhapsodizing about country people and country music.
White people have no rhythm. The poor folks beside me really tried to keep time with the music and clap, but no matter how much I tried to give 'em a hand ... and toe tapping... they couldn't keep the beat! And I was sheltered, for crying out loud! Jason Aldean even stopped playing at times to get the crowd going on an appropriate clapping beat but they lost it every time. It was hilarious. When "She's Country" came on, not even the silhouette of a country girl dancing in the background could help get them into a good groove! LOL
So we're going to save the tickets for the baby's scrapbook as his/her first concert. Baby Medlin certainly won't lack for musical appreciation opportunities in our home. Now we're recovering from the late night drive home and spending money online for baby furniture while watching tv movies. It's snowing, it's peaceful, and we're happy as pigs in mud to be in our pajamas on the couch.
Enjoy your weekend folks!
it's great to see you blogging again! have a wonderful day enjoying the snow, movies, and online shopping. :)
