Two years ago we began praying for a huge life change that would come in a small package wrapped with dirty diapers and midnight feedings. Many times Mike dealt with the questions from 1 Samuel 1 - Kelsey, "why do you weep? why do you not eat? and why is your heart sad?"
Persistently, impatiently, and sometimes without faith (on my part) we prayed for a little miracle. December 4, 2009, a positive home pregnancy test shocked both of us!
For this child I prayed, and the LORD has granted me my petition that I made to him. Therefore I have lent him to the LORD. As long as he lives, he is lent to the LORD.
(1 Samuel 1:27-28)
Now we're 13 weeks along in our new life journey of parenthood and it has already brought change to our lives, mainly as Mike adjusts to a nauseated, exhausted, and less than charming wife. We are thrilled, regardless of this temporary discomfort, to have been given this little Wii Alien to give back to the Lord.
C.S. Lewis said "Nothing that you have not given away will ever truly be yours." We know this little one belongs to the God who says "before I made you in your mother's womb, I chose you." (Jeremiah 1:5)
I'm looking forward to sharing the grace & goodness of our Savior with you all in the coming months!
Beautiful. ;)
